The curl is a signature motif of the workshops of ShackletonThomas. Charles's original idea for the curl came from the volute, the scroll on the top of Ancient Greek Ionic Columns, thought to have been inspired by the nautilus shell. 

The Lucy's Chair in American Cherry is named after Charles and Miranda's beloved Fox Terrier who loved to curl up in just such a chair.  This piece (smaller in scale than the Sleigh Arm Chair) features a delicate curl, beading along the base and solid hardwood mortise and tenon frame. The chair seat is made with steel coil springs, horsehair, foam, cotton and Dacron.®  The cushion is a mix of 70% feather down blend and 30% Holofill.®
